Call for visiting fellows at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, New Delhi

The Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) in New Delhi, India encourages visiting scholars to apply for their visiting fellowships program.

The director of SASNET, Andreas Johansson, met with the director of West Asian (Middle Eastern) Centre at IDSA, Meena Roy Singh (picture), during his visit in October 2017 in order to discuss further collaborations between SASNET and IDSA. The Visiting Fellowship program marks a major step for this collaboration.

The IDSA was established in 1965 and is funded by the Minster of Defense. It operates as an autonomous institute.

“IDSA has a well-qualified multi-disciplinary research faculty drawn from academia, defence forces and the civil services, representing a diversity of views. Research at the Institute is driven by a comprehensive agenda and by the need to provide impartial analyses and policy recommendations. IDSA’s journals, monographs, briefs, and books are the principal mediums through which these analyses and policy recommendations are disseminated. In addition, the news media also carry the views of IDSA experts in the form of op-eds, interviews and participation in debates.”
