SASNET Travel Grant for Journalism Students

The purpose of the grant is to allow students to conduct fieldwork in South Asia during the Bachelor course in journalism at the Department of Communication and Media, Lund University.

Eligibility

Applicants must be students within the Bachelor course in journalism at the Department of Communication and Media, Lund University.

The applicants must also describe their background and plans for the use of the grant according to the instructions below:

The fieldwork must take place in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, or Bhutan. Funding will not be granted for travel to a country or region that contravenes the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ current travel recommendations. 

Two students who plan to collaborate during the project and want to travel together might share the scholarship amount equally. In that case, state this in detail in the application. 

Amount: SEK 25,000

  • Plan for the fieldwork including: 
  • Project plan for reportage or thesis 
  • Preliminary timetable 
  • Preliminary budget for travel, accommodation, and other travel-related costs 
  • Study certificate
