We live in an increasingly polarised world where-in stereotypes, broad generalizations and biases enable a continuous cycle of hate and violence. What would it take to break this cycle and create a more empathetic world? Syed Ali Abbas Zaidi will talk about his experiences in working with tackling extremism on the ground in Pakistan and beyond.
Syed Ali Abbas Zaidi is a counter-extremism expert based out of Islamabad. Over the years, he has founded 03 organizations working at different intersections of the society-state relationship to counter-violent extremism. He has worked on the ground in 40 cities of Pakistan, lobbied internationally at the United Nations for effective policies and has recently been nominated in the elite panel of young leaders at Kofi Annan Foundation countering-extremism globally. His interests include philosophy, social psychology, social innovation and poetry.
