SASNET supports "Rethinking populism" platform on openDemocracy

opendemocracy

#Rethinkingpopulism aims to facilitate dialogues and discussions on the various meanings of populism in current day societies.

#Rethinkingpopulism brings together scholars from various backgrounds to explore populist phenomena around the globe and foster critical dialogue. It is a joint initiative by Lund University, the University of Helsinki and Istanbul Bilgi University, among others. SASNET is one of the funding partners and SASNET director Andreas Johansson is a member of the steering committee.

The first debate is on gender and populism and features an article by previous SASNET employee Soumi Banerjee on gender in the Indian far-right Hindutva movement, which you can read here.
