Call for PhD Applications in Political Science at Heidelberg University

The Department of Political Science, South Asia Institute at Heidelberg University, Germany invite applications for two doctoral positions for the duration of three years under the European Union Marie Curie Fellowship programme.

This is part of the Global India project of European Training Network (ETN H2020). The Global India ETN will deliver a world-class multi-sectoral doctoral training programme focused on India's emergence as a global and regional power, and its relationship with the EU. The European Training Network is a multidisciplinary, multi-sectoral network bringing together six leading European universities, with six leading Indian universities, and six non-university partners.

Applications are invited under two broad themes:

1. State and re-distributive politics in India

2. India and the politics of climate change

Potential candidates would have displayed exceptional academic performance and deep understating of the social, political and economic issues. These are full-time positions which will entail spending time on field-work, network activities and in organisations relevant for the candidates' research. Candidates are expected to publish during the doctoral work.
