The Department of History at Reed College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of History and Humanities, with a specialization in modern or early modern African, Middle Eastern, or South Asian history.
This is a one-year position with a possibility for renewal. In addition to teaching courses in their own area, the appointee may also contribute to the College’s interdisciplinary Humanities program. Teaching duties also include advising year-long senior theses.
Applicants should have the PhD in hand by August 2018. Review of applications will begin on January 10, 2018.
