Hanna Geschewski

During 2019 Hanna Geschewski will work at SASNET as student assistant in charge of SASNET's seminar series and webpage. Hanna is pursuing her Master’s in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science (LUMES) at the Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (LUCSUS).

Hanna spent nine years in Nepal and India during which she was able to grasp the natural and cultural diversity and societal and historical complexities of the region from different perspectives – as a student at Kathmandu University, as a volunteer teacher for a women’s rights organization in a Tibetan settlement of Kathmandu, and as an intern with a solar company on field trips in central Nepal, as a trainee with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) in New Delhi. Hanna is particularly interested in the role of indigenous and local knowledge systems in sustainable rural and urban development on the subcontinent.
