Research Seminar in Human Rights Studies - Perspectives from India

This Human Rights Research Seminar will be visited by two guest presenters from India. Each will give a short presentation on their research about human rights in hostile political environments, followed by a common seminar discussion.

The presenters are following:

Avinash Kumar 

Distinguished Fellow at Centre for Equity Studies, New Delhi and former Executive Director, Amnesty International India (read more about Kumar here)

Human rights in India: how to overcome the binaries of socio-economic rights and civil political rights

Ingrid Srinath

Former Director for the Centre for Social Impact and Philanthropy, Ashoka University (read more about Srinath here).

Strategies to defend human rights in hostile political environments - learning from international experience

The research seminar is hosted by the Human Rights Studies Programme at Lund University.
