The event was jointly organized by UI, Sweden India Business Council (SIBC) and Business Sweden.

The first part of the event was an open seminar addressed by Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways and Commerce, Government of India. In his talk, the Minister touched upon various issues related to the performance of his government in the arenas of domestic economy, FDI, sanitation, technology as well as India’s place in the world, her great power ambitions and long-standing cultural and economic ties with Sweden. The programme was moderated by SASNET affiliated researcher Henrik Chetan Aspengren and concluded with an engaging interaction between Mr. Goyal and Jonas Hellman, Managing Director, Politics and Social Analysis, Prime.

The second part of the event constituted a closed seminar focusing on a critical engagement with the themes of interest that came up from the Minister’s talk and beyond.
