SASNET co-hosted a successful Nordic South Asian Conference
The 2019 SANR conference was hosted by Sasnet/Lund University, the Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI), Stockholm, and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). SANR is an annual networking conference on South Asian studies in the Nordic Countries.
The conference offers a platform for Nordic scholars of South Asia to present their research and meet other researchers. It is particularly intended to be a supportive meeting point for emerging scholars. Lund University had several participants at the conference. Professor Emeritus, Göran Djurfeldt, held the first annual Staffan Lindberg lecture, when he reflected about his and Staffan Lindbergs fieldwork in Tamil Nadu between 1960-80s.
Also SASNET student assistant Ulrika Andersson presented her ideas for her upcoming MA-thesis. SASNET director, Andreas Johansson, also discussed the next steps in South Asian studies networking in one panel.
Next years SANR conference will be hosted by University of Copenhagen.
