As in previous years, the Nordic Centre in India, a consortium of leading universities and research institutions in the Nordic countries, will provide funding to a number of doctor-level researchers and above from NCI member universities to support their research in India.
Scholars have the opportunity to travel to India and conduct research under three different grant schemes:
NCI Ganga Mahal Scholar in Residence Programme
The grant covers travel and subsistence costs a for a one-month stay at the Karlstad University India Study Centre at Ganga Mahal in Varanasi.
The application deadline is April 15, 2019.

NCI Travel Grant
The grant supports six researchers per year with 500 Euros each to cover their expenses for travel to and from India for research purposes.
The application deadline for the spring call is May 15, 2019 and for the autumn call October 15, 2019.

NCI Academic Activity Grant
Scholars are supported with a one-time payment of 3500 Euros per project to cover travel expenses and to finance projects and academic events in collaboration with Indian partner institutions.
