After the first cases were reported in November 2019 in the Wuhan region of China, the coronavirus has spread to 177 countries and infected more than 200,000 people worldwide. While Europe is currently treated as the epicentre, not many cases have been reported from the South Asian continent.

SASNET director Andreas Johansson spoke with Dr. Shantanu Sharma, a researcher and medical doctor at Lund University with extensive experience in the Indian health sector, about the spread of COVID-19 in India, the characteristics of a pandemic and what it means to flatten the curve.
