Latest SASNET podcast episode on COVID-19 and fake news in India

Podcast episode 05

Hanna Geschewski had the pleasure to speak to SASNET affiliate researcher Dr Parama Sinha Palit on the spread of fake news on social media in times of the coronavirus pandemic.

For this episode of our podcast, we invited Dr Parama Sinha Palit, Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Rajaratnam School of International Studies within Nanyang Technological University Singapore. She is also an affiliate researcher at SASNET. In 2017, her first book "Analysing China’s Soft Power Strategy and Comparative Indian Initiatives" was published at SAGE. Her current research focuses on the use of social media in foreign policy making. Her upcoming book, which will be released next year by Routledge, particularly deals with the use of social media in India's foreign policy.

We spoke about the role of social media and the circulation of fake news and misinformation in India during the Coronavirus pandemic.
