Hanna Geschewski and Ulrika Andersson join SASNET as student assistants

During 2019 Hanna Geschewski and Ulrika Andersson will work at SASNET as student assistants with different tasks regarding communication and seminars.

Hanna Geschewski is pursuing her Master’s in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science (LUMES). Hanna spent nine years in Nepal and India. Hanna was able to grasp the natural and cultural diversity and societal and historical complexities of the region from different perspectives – as a student at Kathmandu University, as a volunteer teacher for a women’s rights organization in a Tibetan settlement of Kathmandu, and as an intern with a solar company on field trips in central Nepal, as a trainee with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) in New Delhi. Hanna is particularly interested in the role of indigenous and local knowledge systems in sustainable rural and urban development on the subcontinent. At SASNET Hanna will be in charge of the seminars series.

Ulrika Andersson has a bachelor in Oriental studies with Hindi as my mayor from Uppsala University. This semester Ulrika has begun her master’s in Asian Studies with South Asia as her focus area. Ulrika also studied in Varanasi for a full semester at INLANSO and she also did volunteer work and Hindi courses in Delhi during summers. At SASNET Ulrika will be in charge of the social media.
