Developing the South Asia Initiative

Aspengren

SASNET intern Anni-Elina Vänskä met with Henrik Chetan Aspengren last week to discuss the subsequent phase of the SASNET and Institute of International Affairs (UI) collaboration.

Since 2018, SASNET has been collaborating with the Institute of International Affairs (UI) to develop the South Asia Initiative (SAI). The South Asia Initiative is a research platform that bridges together research, analysis and outreach on the countries of South Asia, and the relationship between the region and the wider world.

Last week Anni-Elina Vänskä, the SASNET Public Relations and Marketing Intern paid a visit to meet Henrik Chetan Aspengren at the Institute of International Affairs (UI) to discuss new ways to develop the South Asia Initiative, including its long-term goals and strategies for outreach. One of the current aims of the collaboration is to map out the South Asia related interests that Swedish civil society organizations may hold, as well as to facilitate institutional linkages between Swedish and Indian stakeholders. Anni-Elina has been working with the initiative during her internship, and one of her tasks also involved designing the official South Asia Initiative logo.
