The Department particularly encourages applications from scholars in the fields of history, sociology, hermeneutics, literary studies, and philosophy of religion. Applicants should have expertise in Buddhist textual traditions in their original languages, preferably with attention to wider circles of textual and visual production. Regardless of area of scholarly specialization, the successful candidate should demonstrate teaching competency relevant to East Asian Buddhisms. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach the Department’s Introduction to the Study of Religion and Majors Colloquium in Religious Studies on a rotating basis.
Applications completed by October 2, 2017 will receive full consideration.
