Rishi Jha and Deepak Kumar Nanda, PhD Scholars from School of Social Work at Tata Institute of Social Sciences in India, visited SASNET's office.

Rishi Jha and Deepak Kumar Nanda are Erasmus + Visiting Doctoral Fellows at School of Social Work, Lund University from Jan, 2017 till May, 2017.

Rishi Jha's doctoral thesis is on undomiciled migrants in urban spaces and it aims to explore negotiated citizenship and state-migrant relation in Indian metropolises. His primary areas of interests are urban poverty, migration, citizenship, cities of global south, state and civil society. He comes with Master in Social Work in Community Organization and Development Practice from TISS and working experience with poverty alleviation programs in India. 

Deepak Kumar Nanda takes an interest in the study of Poverty eradication, Regional Disparities, Underdevelopment and Policy Research. He had his MPhil thesis on Socio-economic Risks and Household Coping Strategies to Poverty in Western Odisha. Presently, he is working on Political Economy of Regional Disparities and Underdevelopment of KBK regions, one of the most backward regions of India as his PhD thesis.
